Synopsis
The word MARGINALIA alludes to the comments and illustrations made in the blank margins of medieval texts. You could say that the Marginalia were the outlet for many monks who spent hours copying down a never-ending stream of religious texts.
Our MARGINALIA, in turn, are snippets of dance from the lives of various people who feel forgotten or forsaken on the fringes of society. These are recurring stories from our daily lives, but rarely do we stop to think about the people facing those realities.
She has spent twenty years of her life cleaning accommodation for tourists. More than five hours a day, yet she still does not have a contract. From the balcony of the housing she is cleaning, she can observe the globetrotting tourists below. Whereas they are travelling all over the world, she has spent the last four years without any chance to see her own children, who are left on the other side of the world in the care of their grandmother …
He arrived on the Andalusian coast two years ago, in a miniscule boat struggling to keep afloat, and in a collective fit of panic he had to plunge into the water without knowing how to swim.
Fortunately, a fishing boat adapted to saving human lives miraculously appeared. That is all he remembers. All he knows is that many of passengers aboard the tiny boat he never got to see again.
